Romney Lies: Part 2,344 – “Obama is out of touch with the American people. He probably spent too many years at Harvard.” WRONG!!

Not only is it ridiculous to say that going to Harvard means that one is out of touch with “real people”, Gov. Romney must have forgotten he has twice as many degrees from Harvard as Read more »

Romney Lies: Part 2,343 – “Obama…. has made it harder for new businesses to start up.” WRONG!!

At the risk of committing myself to a very daunting task, here is the next installment of calling Mr. Romney on his outright lies. With just about 45 seconds of searching it seems that Romney’s Read more »

Newt Kid in Town

Well, it seems that Speaker Gingrich has pulled out a stonking great can of Whoop-Ass on Mittens in the South Carolina Republican Primary. With Gov. Romney still struggling to break 30%, and in this case Read more »

Home

This is, among other things, the online home of the Ribbans name….

Its also a place for me, Kim, to post, spout and generally throw peanuts from the gallery and talk about the topics that interest me.  That would be politics, policy, life’s little absurdities and other meaningful/less ephemera.

The Ribbans name is a variant of an old English family name, variously spelled Revans (generally considered to be the original nom de guerre), Ribbans, Ribbons and another handful of other slight tweaks.  For more on that history please visit the genealogy section here >>

There are lots of the Ribbans-types in the east and south-east of England, a few in the north-east United States and some antipodean progeny too.  The internet had made us more curious to explore our pasts and, maybe, our present too.  Its fun.

Then there’s me.  Feel like early twenties, but going on early fifties – transplant from England to the U.S.. Liberal, not enlightened but emerging, wannabee artist, writer, creator, just finding her passion and enjoying it. Three kids in various degrees of separation (“How can I miss you if you won’t leave”) and growing up too quickly.  I love you! Call me!

So, I write down about 5% of what I mean to, share 10% of that and here it is.

Try not to judge – unless its the good kind – and see if anything interests you.

Thanks

Kim
